How do I get started?

Send a short message with your experience level, age (or student’s age), and what you’d like to focus on. If you’re unsure, we’ll shape the direction together.

What will I learn?

Lessons are built around your goals - whether that’s learning favourite songs, improving technique, or following a structured path.

Styles include rock, blues, pop, acoustic, fingerstyle and more.

If you want a formal framework, we can work towards graded exams (such as Trinity Rock & Pop). Otherwise, lessons can remain fully practical and music-focused.

What age do you teach?

Lessons are available from 8 years old and upwards, with no upper age limit.

For younger children (8-12), parent involvement is strongly recommended. At this stage, consistent progress depends on routine - doing practice together is often the only reliable way to build a habit.

How are lessons scheduled?

We set a fixed weekly time slot to keep progress consistent and structured. This is the most effective way to develop real skill. Occasional flexible lessons may be available.

Where do lessons take place?

Lessons take place in a super quiet, sound-treated studio designed for focused learning.

The space also allows for simple performance recording, so we can track your progress over time.

A range of different guitars is available in the studio to explore and find what suits you best.

How much do lessons cost?

Lessons are billed monthly in advance via bank transfer or cash.

Individual lesson rates:

  • 30 minutes – £25

  • 45 minutes – £30

  • 60 minutes – £35

Group and family lesson options are also available.

What should I bring?

Your own guitar is recommended for the best progress, but you are welcome to use one of my guitars during lessons. If you don’t yet own a guitar, you can still start. Early lessons can help you try different instruments and choose the right one with confidence. All amps, pedals, and cables are provided in the studio.

Will I need to practise between lessons?

Absolutely. And you’ll always know exactly what to do - each lesson includes clear, focused practice tasks tailored to your level. The goal is steady, realistic progress without overwhelm.

Do you offer lessons for parents and children together?

Yes. Family lessons (parent + child) are a great way to make learning more engaging and to support practice at home.

Can I play with others?

Yes, duet and trio sessions are available for students who already have some experience.

These sessions simulate a real band environment and help develop timing, listening skills, and musical communication - essential skills for playing with others.
